4th of July

We had a great 4th of July!  We went to the one of the local parks that was having a festival for the kiddos....bike parade, bouncy house, crafts, games, you know, the usual kiddos stuff.

I went a little overboard with decorating Taylor's tricycle for the parade....

She absolutely loved riding in the bike parade, though.  She thought she was such a big girl riding with all the other kiddos!

The rest of the day we just relaxed and hung out.  It was sooo hot outside, you really couldn't enjoy being outside too much without being in the water of some sort.

I am sure you noticed Taylor's lovely band aid on her chin.....let's just say we have the child that is the clumsiest and most accident prone of all kids.

It started out last Wednesday, when she tripped going up the stairs at the park.  She split open her chin on the cement steps.......and off to the e.r. we went.  Several hours later and 3 stitches in her chin, we were on our way home.

So, her chin was just starting to look a little better on Sunday.  We went to the carnival in town that evening......and after about 20-30 minutes of being there, she trips on the Grandstand and splits open her chin again.

We had a paramedic look at it.  (It just happened to be the paramedic I rode in the ambulance with when Madi had her accident.  Nice!)  They thought it was right on the border of needing stitches or not.  It stopped bleeding so we bandaged it up really well and decided to let Taylor enjoy a few rides before going back to the hospital.

A few carnival rides and some fireworks later......off we went back to the e.r.  We had the pleasure of having the same Dr. that stitched up Madi's eye (again, when she had her accident.)  The skin around her original "split" was too bruised up and damaged to really hold a stitch so, a few steri-strips later, we were back on our way home.

I dont' know what the deal is with her......every other day she has some pretty significant fall of some sort and ends up with scrapes and bruises.  She just doesn't watch wear she is walking and trips on everything.  I am hoping that she grows out of this phase sooner rather than later.  Otherwise, I might need to buy some stock in Mederma.

Both of the girls looked super cute in their festive red, white and blue!

"Let me tell you a secret, Madi!"

"That was funny, wasn't it?!?!"

I have to say, this is one of my favorite pictures of the two girlies together!

I could just swim in those eyes!!!!

Poor Taylor! Ouch! I hope she has a few accident-free days for you :)

She looked adorable on her decorated trike, and I love the pictures of the girls together!
